I've been trying to get better at Halo 2. My GamerTag is Agressic, and as you can see, I'm only a lowly level 7. Last night I had my 2nd night of big-team battles. What a blast, there were 8 of us including 4 members of my Clan online. Unfortunately we didn't do so well. But like all games, while it's about winning, you can only do your part as a team by improving yourself (and perhaps voting off the weakest members, but I think that's me, so I'm not going to participate in any such voting!).
So my what am I focusing on?
- The Faster Kill - I can't believe how fast people take me down sometimes. I barely have enough time to get a few shots off, which obviously isn't enough to drain their energy shield. I'm thinking it's headshots. So, that's what I'm working on. When I attack someone, I usually aim for the head. I'm almost possitive some weapons won't give you the headshot, because quite frankly, I aim at the head almost every time and I get the big whoppin' ZERO under the head-shot field.
- Kills > Deaths - I've gotten past the two deaths for every kill that I get (for the most part) but I need to do better. All too often, I'm disappointed to see I killed 13 people and died 15 times. Dang it! That should be the other way around.
- Knowning where I am - Apparently, when playing Halo 2, the weapons scattered around the map are landmarks. In a team skirmish, you really want to know where your team is and what you're doing, so you can communicate (voice, which is really cool) to them simply by pushing up on the D-pad or the white button. The problem is you get back this "over at the sniper rifle". Right now, that doesn't help me much since I have no clue where this is! I think I've learned 2 or 3 of the 10-12 maps really well. I need to learn the others.
So after my brow-beating last night. I need to regroup and focus on the 3 major aspects to improve my play.
Heck, I might just have to do some training rounds to figure this all out.
