So I just returned from Christmas holiday's, what a blast. Lots to eat and drink the entire time. I think I put on an extra 15 pounds! It was great to have the whole family back together again.
You know when you've been gone from home for a while, you seem to forget things? Well, besides the fact I couldn't find the cutlery in the kitchen, I had forgotten how hilarious my sister is. I just had to write these couple of stories to share.
Getting a Ride to Work
While we were home, my sister apparently has an open invitation to go and work for an advertising company in town. (This is common for my sister, she has trouble finding a job, then when she works somewhere, they want her to come back ... always). The catch? She has to work from 9-5 for 5 days over her Christmas holiday's. The problem? For the first two days, my parents had to be at their places of business by 8am, so they couldn't take her to work. Since we only had 2 cars available to us, Jaclyn says she "has arranged a ride with a friend". For the first two days, this is great for her, and she continues for the next 3 days having her friend take her to work.
On the last day, Dad and I woke up (at around 10am) to 2 feet of snow. We spent the remainder of the morning shovelling it off the drive way, all we see are tire tracks of people come and gone this morning.
Later at dinner, Jaclyn tells us the story "The snow was so deep, my friend Steve and his brother pushed while myself and his mother drove ..." Wait a second here, his Mother??!?
So while Dad and I slept, Jaclyn had gotten someone else's mother out of bed and out in the snow to come and pick her up and drive her to work! How hilarious is that!
Quitting her Job
Jaclyn, when she's in a good mood (not breakfast, but dinner), she tends to tell us a lot of stories. On one of our last nights in town, she tells us she's not too excited to go back to her work at school. She's working as a hostess at Applebee's. She wants to be a waiter, but of course she's in a pickle, because you need prior waitressing experience to be a waiter. Mom chips in of course "but you worked as a waiter at Kelsey's, why can you tell them about that?!". "I can't" came the reply.
Apparently, when she worked at Kelsey's, they decided she was good with kids (which she is) and they stuck her on kids night. Kids don't give tips, so the job sucked! After telling her friends about this, and that she wanted to quite, one of her friends promptly called Kelsey's and said "My daughter can no longer work at your establishment". LOL! He pretended to be my father, but apparently he screwed up the conversation and hung up. A different friend called up and continued to pretend to be my father to finish the job. LOL! She never went back to Kelsey's and can't use them as a reference.
My sister is hilarious, she's probably one of the most funny people I know.
