The Scruge of Halloween

That's me.

I'll be honest here, if you didn't get it from last year. I'm going to tell you again. I'm not a fan of this Halloween thing. I'm just happy that it came on a Tuesday this year. Kids couldn't go too crazy because it was a school night, and it was raining.

So what did I do? Well, the first kids showed up at work around 3:30 pm in the afternoon (lucky for me the first two were the cutest!). I said my hello's and headed for the car to skip traffic. I got home and immediately took Chico for a walk (as to ensure I missed all the kids), then I turned all the lights out in my house and proceeded to watch normal movies all night (yep, not even the scary ones).

The holiday came and went and I gracefully stepped out. I'm not sure why I hate Halloween. It's probably a combination of:

  • I don't like scary movies, let alone dress up or see people dressed up as them

  • I don't care for a holiday that encourages people to be weirder than they already are (don't get me wrong, I love the little fairys and knights that stop by, but the mass murders, freaks of nature aren't my thing)

  • Vandalism seems to be at an all time high on this holiday (hey, they're already wearing masks, why not break a few things!)

  • Traffic. Ugh

  • Candy, I already have a sweet tooth and a ponch, why lay it all out in front of me?

So, I dutifully appologize is this is your favourite holiday, I'm just glad it's more than 300 days away again.
